… WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM TUESDAY TO 6 PM MST WEDNESDAY…
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DENVER HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR SNOW… WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM TUESDAY TO 6 PM MST WEDNESDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.
* TIMING… SNOW WILL DEVELOP EARLY TUESDAY MORNING AND CONTINUE THROUGH WEDNESDAY.
* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS… SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 8 TO 16 INCHES IN THE VALLEYS WITH 1 TO 3 FEET IN THE MOUNTAINS THROUGH LATE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON. THE HEAVIEST AMOUNTS CAN BE EXPECTED ON HIGHER WEST FACING SLOPES.
* WIND/VISIBILITY… SOUTHWEST WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 45 MPH TONIGHT AND TUESDAY WILL CREATE BLOWING SNOW AND REDUCED VISIBILITIES OVER THE MOUNTAIN PASSES. THE WIND IS EXPECTED TO DECREASE TUESDAY NIGHT.
* IMPACTS… WINTER DRIVING CONDITIONS CAN BE EXPECTED OVER THE MOUNTAINS WITH ICY AND SNOWPACKED ROADWAYS. CHAINS REQUIREMENTS AND ROAD CLOSURES WILL BECOME A POSSIBILITY DURING THE WINTRY PERIOD.

A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW ARE FORECAST THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS. ONLY TRAVEL IN AN EMERGENCY. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL… KEEP AN EXTRA FLASHLIGHT… FOOD… AND WATER IN YOUR VEHICLE IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY.
