- This week is the “technical week” of the International Snow Sculpting Championships in Breckenridge. 10 foot cubes are being built 12 foot high. Enthusiastic volunteers stomp snow, layer by layer, to create a solid block dense enough for intricate carving. *There may still be time to sign up to stomp; click here to volunteer. Warming shacks are on hand for your comfort, yea survival.
- Next week is “sculpting week”- commencing Monday, Jan 20 at 11:00 AM. Watch as artists from around the world whittle and work. Thursday, Jan 23, is the last night of sculpting. Join the party as artists push to meet their deadline, and supporters rally in good cheer -celebrating the feat.
- Jan 24 thru 29 is “viewing week”. Come marvel at the creativity and skill it takes to create such beautiful displays!
