Spring is just around the corner! It’s our favorite time in the mountains, warmer weather great snow and lots of sunshine are the cherry on top after a long winter. Many visitors decide to plan their skiing trip in the spring, and Copper Mountain is a can’t miss destination. Other that their fantastic terrain and legendary terrain park, Copper has a packed event calendar! Copper Mountain is easily accessible from the Frisco Transfer Station using the free Summit Stage bus.
Here’s a few of the top things to look forward this March at Copper Mountain
Special Olympics Winter Games
Copper is beyond proud to be the official host resort for the annual Special Olympics State Winter Games. More than 200 athletes will participate in Alpine, Cross Country, Snowboarding, and Snowshoe events.
Opening ceremonies, including the athlete parade, cauldron lighting, torchlight parade, and fireworks, kick off Saturday evening (3/2) at 6pm!
Mammut Stampede Series Uphill Race March 16th
The first annual three-resort Mammut Stampede Series concludes in Copper on March 16th. Showcase your speed and skill, and vie for the title of the fastest athlete overall in the three races. This competition offers categories for all gender identities – men, women, and non-binary. The top finisher in each will be rewarded with an Aenergy 20-25 ST Backpack and $500 gift card to the Copper Mammut store!
Park Competitions
In recent years Copper Mountain has established themselves as the top destination for terrain park athletes. The terrain parks at Copper Mountain are run in conjunction with Camp Woodward. Woodward maintains all of the terrain parks at Copper and they have an indoor sports barn at the base of Copper Mountain. The Catalyst Terrain Park is the largest and most difficult park at Copper. The top section of this park has several medium and large jump lines. The bottom section is filled with rails, jibs and bonks of all kinds.
With design inspiration coming directly from Olympic Athletes, Copper has created the best competition venue around. All the hard work put into this park has given copper the right to host some of the most iconic park competitions of the winter
Dew Tour March 8-10
The 20th year of Dew Tour will celebrate the best in snowboarding and freeskiing competition & culture.
The Winter Dew Tour will include the world’s best male and female skiers and snowboarders competing in individual Superpipe and Streetstyle events, a two-night concert lineup with Ship Wrek & Snakehips, and a calendar of fan-based activities, including a special retrospective of the past 20 years of Dew Tour. Located in the heart of Copper Mountain’s Center Village, spectators will have a front-row seat to the all the Dew Tour excitement. It all goes down March 8th – 10th.
Attendees can enjoy the slopes, explore the event and soak in the electric atmosphere. As always, Dew Tour remains to the public, offering an unforgettable experience for all winter sports enthusiasts.

USASA Nationals March 30-April11
From March 30th – April 11th, Copper Mountain Resort is proud to host the United States of America Snowboard and Freeski Association (USASA) National Championships.
Woodward and Copper’s ongoing commitment to empower and inspire youth through sports, community, and culture is demonstrated as 1500+ snowboard and freeski athletes from across the U.S. come together to compete in the winter season finale.
Play Forever Thursdays
One way Copper is trying to have a positive affect on our environment and community is through their Play Forever Program.
Copper Mountain’s Play Forever commitment focuses on improving the lives of those around us. This winter, Copper will partner with organizations that support the below causes through financial, in-kind and volunteer assistance through the Play Forever Thursdays program.
- Local Relief: Provide localized aid or essential resources to Summit County and/or neighboring communities.
- Participation: Support diversity, equity and inclusivity within the outdoor community with an emphasis on mountain recreation accessibility.
- Environment: Support organizations focuses on protecting the environment through sustainability, education and action.
During the 2023/24 winter season, $99 discounted tickets purchased online, in advance will have a portion of proceeds benefit select Play Forever Thursdays partner organizations. This year, Copper will be partnering with 21 organization’s over the course of 15 weeks.

Other Events
The Green Tire Giveaway presented by Nokian Tyres March 5th
Copper Mountain and Nokian Tyres will be hosting a scavenger hunt for the green tire that’s hidden somewhere on the mountain. Follow along with the virtual clues posted to their social channels, ski or ride your favorite slopes to track down the location, and be the first to find the green tire to win a full set of brand-new Nokian Tyres.

Bubly Tubing Spindig March 21st
TUBING IS IN FULL SWING! Join the Bubly Tubing Spindig on March 21, complete with a DJ spinning tunes and giveaways. Book your tubing session, grab a bite at JJ’s Tavern, hit the free Snow Maze, and make the most of your afternoon.
