Spring time is the best time at Arapahoe Basin. Warmer temperatures and longer days allow A-basin to host some great events and live music, but this doesn’t mean an end to the epic skiing! A-basin’s high altitude and northern oriented aspects hold great snow long after other ski resorts have closed for the season. The expert terrain on East Wall takes most of the winter to gather enough snow to open, but once it does, it offers great expert terrain late into spring. The wind loaded, southern facing terrain of Montezuma Bowl gets heavy snow all winter and offers up slushy fun on warm spring afternoons.
As spring transitions into summer Arapahoe Basin gives skiers and riders the unique opportunity of natural pond skimming. Many of the other mountains create man made ponds for their skimming events, but Arapahoe Basin has a natural pond that reveals itself under the Lenawee Lift in late spring / early summer.
Now, let’s talk about those events!
